I don't think Shin-Osaka Station is a good location to spend four nights - It's convenient for the Shinkansen but it has little else to recommend it. If the OP were looking for a place to spend one night before catching an early train, it would make sense.

Osaka Station is "downtown" - an entirely different proposition.
