Due to health we won’t be traveling with BA again(only really used them for long haul) and they no longer fly from our local airport. wanted to use what points I have for an internal flight in Spain to celebrate our 70th birthdays whilst there.
my BA expires 24th November.

I suspect it will be out of service for a few months, based on similar issues elsewhere. You can more easily move Avios to Iberia. Using Avios on Vueling isn't usually good value, but it can be on Iberia. And some Iberia tickets are really on Vueling.
