I would strongly suggest rebooking your DL itinerary to fly direct from the mainland into OGG and out of HNL. Or at least, check the price of doing so.

HNL isn't the worst place to connect, but there are extra security steps required when arriving from the mainland and DL will not accommodate your transfer, even though HA is a partner. You'll probably end up needing an extra 4 hours in transit to get to OGG compared to an OGG mainland arrival. And since you are coming from MEM, you are connecting somewhere anyway, might as well be a one-stop rather than a messy two-stop.
