ATL isn't any where near as bad as IAH or even AUS (possibly the worst AA lounge), so don't worry too much. If you want the best lounge in future, JFK is your best option, if a lounge is so important. I'm one of those flyers who really doesn't spend much time in a lounge. If you arrive 2 hours before the flight, check-in, by the time you've gone through security etc, you only have around an hour anyhow!
