My own personal experience with this as well as other posts indicate that QR sometimes takes as much as a day or two to return the Avios. But it's still pretty quick, IMO.
As an example, I cancelled a booking online last Friday. I then live chatted with them and Avios were refunded immediately. Just got my cash refund today so exactly 1 week.
