UA/AC fare difference - same flight! .. why?
Hi all -

I take the same flight each week - AC 1076/UA 8687
(operationed by AC, on AC Metal)

Why is there always such a HUGE discrepancy in fares between AC and UA:

Feb 7th for example (CRJ):
AC - $284 CDN (Q class)
UA - $716 CDN (U class)

Question I guess boils down to - what factors go into the price difference? and why would anyone ever book with UA instead of AC?
