I spent some time on this last night and our best bet seems to be flying into AMS from Austin on Delta booking 1 Comfort+ seat with miles. We will spend a night or two there and then catch a quick flight to Bergen. I didn't realize SAS would be joining Skyteam so that's a possibility. Unless, I can find award availability out of Copenhagen, we will book a roundtrip to AMS and fly back out of AMS a couple of weeks later. It adds complexity but with my daughters availability being up in the air, I would prefer not to have a $2k credit in case she can't join us.

I have a DL Reserve card. Is there anyway to transfer those points to KL/AF? I don't believe so but maybe I'm missing something. I think I need to investigate moving to a Plat Amex and moving away from the DL Reserve.

Any other thoughts?
