Did you cancel the other reservation? Or did you keep it as an insurance policy, to cancel much closer to the time?
I cancelled the ba reservation for the 789 and rebooked for the 777 because I needed the avios back to book the replacement flight. But I kept the a380 reservation because that a BA partner award thru American and I have plenty of AA points
