It was pricing at around 51K points last month and Euro rate was 270 last month. 11 Euro higher now costing and extra 34,000 points . That is a pretty big devaluation on this particular hotel. I hope this is just temporary. I dont get my 40k certificates until November.
While I agree that there has been devaluations across the board at around the time this thread was created, hotels rates (including award bookings) in Athens are very very volatile and Athens as a market it is heavily dependent on cruise departure dates or events even outside the very peak of summer. A large or two cruises or an event/large corporate booking can change hotels rate dramatically. The change that you are seeing surely has to be more with a big booking (s) filling in the hotel or market occupancy significantly rather than being related to an IHG wide. devaluation
