Exactly. If traveling on business, there's typically a reason I need to be at the place I've traveled to, and it does not involve spending the entire day in my hotel room. Similar with a leisure stay - I'm not traveling somewhere on vacation just to spend the whole day in my hotel room.
I've very occasionally gotten pushback on late check-out. I know it happens, but IME the vast majority of properties comply with the rules.
I'm definitely not spending the whole time in my room so I can pound my chest and 'show' some FDA that I won by virtue of squatting as opposed to dealing with the issue like a logical, rational adult, and still getting what I need.
