Spark Orlando Near Seaworld

So yea I also got curious to give Spark a try as a long time Hilton user.

I needed a place to crash for about 8 hours and this location was about 20 bucks cheaper than a comparable Hampton using my corporate rate so I decided why not.

Overall impression is not too bad. I had done my research so knew what I was getting. This was a long time Best Western Plus and then Best Western with brand realignment.

Despite the renovation, there is no mistaking it for a remotely newish property. But, the renovation has been good to at least update the accommodations and the property. Still, there are oddities and cost cuttings (the latter of which I bet is going to be a hallmark of Spark as a brand). The material from carpets to even paint are lower quality and aging faster than they should. Oddities resulting from what is clearly forcing a one size fits design on to various properties with various room sizes/designs end up having a floor lamp awkwardly right next to the bed almost hovering over it. Or beds that have to be pushed right by the wall to fit.

Furniture and lighting are also visibly cheaper although look modern.

Overall I can’t say the property is bad or anything particularly terrible and staff at least the one person I interacted was kind and nice but it is far from any Hampton I’ve stayed in even the older ones before the upmarket push on new builds.

To sum this all up, In the future I’d rather take my chances at a Hampton with the guarantee than Spark unless I am ONLY using it as a place to crash and it provides 20% or more savings.

This brand will not do Hilton any good in terms of customer retention.
