4 years late but I'll give a current synopsis.
Stayed one night last Thursday as Platinum. 2 rooms for family of 5. Booked one on brilliant cc free night, paid for the other room. Both booked as partial ocean views. Didn't want to push it as the reviews on the Marriott site seem to be anti-status norm at the Hotel. Without asking though both rooms upgraded to full ocean view.

The rooms are clean but definitely dated and kind of tight, really the view made the room. Weekday might be different but no noticeable outside noise at night on the 3rd floor.

There is no Lounge and the on-premise restaurant is not affiliated with the Hotel. So if you want to use the F&B credit, can only work at the snack shelf in the Lobby. I went with points(and did post).
Parking down stairs is $10, tight but spaces were available.

We didn't need a late checkout but imagine they would be stingy with all the newbies trying to check in on a Friday.

Beach and boardwalk access, 30 seconds, can't complain about that. Indoor pool pointless with the beach right there and the size of jacuzzi you'd see at a Las Vegas resort.

Overall a good experience and would stay again although would be disappointed without the view so to be safe I'd probably book the ocean view for another $100 but if you you're using points then just keep your fingers crossed I guess.
