You're better off going via Doha or Kuala Lumpur. The connection to Jetstar isn't terrible, exactly, but it's far from great. There's no lounge access, regardless of status or class of travel, and you have to change from T1 to T4, which is a long bus ride and an excruciatingly slow security check. Admittedly, you can use a paid lounge for about £30 which is quite good (I've only done Jetstar to KUL, and only one way), but the product is inferior to mainline economy as well. KUL-BKK on Malaysia Airlines is quite nice and the lounges in KL are decent, and while there are some issues with the airside train system at the moment, KLIA is otherwise very pleasant.

Doha needs no introduction, I take it.
