I have a 7 night reservation at an IHG property using points, but want to shorten it to 3-4 nights. However, there is no award night availability when I check, so I can't just make a new reservation. Is it possible to shorten an IHG reservation and should I make a phone call to do it? How does this work? I don't want to lose the 7 night points stay in the process if that makes any sense, because I may do the 7 nights if I can't shorten the stay. Since award nights are no longer available for my dates, I don't want to end up with nothing.
