I guess it is a similar principle with the executive lounge. "Lounge access" is what is advertised but there is no onus on the hotel to open the lounge all day, or to provide breakfast in the lounge, or to provide afternoon tea, or to provided alcoholic drinks, and in practice executive lounge access at a given property can be incredibly valuable (say at an Asian Conrad) or worth next to nothing (some of the UK Hiltons).

This forum is BY FAR the best place to find out what will actually be provided in the EL and what reasonable expectations to have of the service, food etc etc.
