I completed a stay again this weekend at the Conrad. I’ll slightly restate what I had said in this thread before: the Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World is a high-rise Hilton Garden Inn.
After landing at Harry Reid, I tried to check in on the app for digital key. While I got the message I was checked-in, the key was never sent to me. Ended up checking in at the desk. Went up to my chosen room and the key wouldn’t work. Went back down to desk; tried again. Went back upstairs; key on second try still didn’t work. Went back to desk for a third time and the agent apologized, moved me to a different room (from 55th to 39th floor), and offered a $70 food and beverage credit for the inconvenience. No upgrade available; I booked a strip-view room, and that’s what I got.
I had originally booked the Hilton here but ended up switching a couple days before the stay because the Conrad was actually less expensive. The room was clean but it is pretty spartan compared to any other Conrad I’ve stayed in. The Resorts World pools close early at 8pm. Also, I asked about the stuffed bear at the desk; they were out of them. All and all, the Conrad is a disappointment if expecting a luxury hotel.
So I agree that the Conrad Las Vegas is certainly not like other Conrad in the world (I've stayed at a total of 11), but there were some things that stood out in your review...
I disagree that it's a step up above a HGI. Definitely not.
1. Not sure why you went downstairs 3 times for a mobile key. I would have just taken a regular key to avoid frustrations after the first time.
2. Pools normally close at 6 pm/7 pm the latest, so Resorts World pools closing at 8 pm is very generous.
3. They do tend to run out of the Resorts World bears (It's Vegas so they are getting many guests). I didn't get a bear due to this on my first stay, but received one on my second stay.
4. I'm not sure if you went on a busy weekend, but you aren't entitled to an upgrade. It's nice to have one, but it isn't mandatory... Also, did you ask for one?
I booked a strip view at the Conrad and nicely asked for an upgrade at the desk. I was given a strip view 1 bedroom .
Sometimes it's important to reflect on the energy that we put out there into the universe. It can really make a difference in the experience we receive.
