Three uber-luxe resorts slated for 2028/9, divied up between Marriott's two biggest partners customers in Vietnam: Sun Group and BITEXCO.
Tiny Hon Thom Island off Phu Quoc's southern tip is to be the site of both a towering 305-room Luxury Collection Resort, Hon Thom Island and the 40-villa Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Hon Thom Island.

JW Marriott Trang An Resort and Spa would be Marriott's first resort in Northern Vietnam, located in Ninh Binh province, near the heavily-touristed but still very beautiful Trang An grottoes -- a UNESCO-world heritage site dubbed "inland Halong Bay" and "the place they shot the King Kong movie"

Marriott's had a swarm of "new" VN properties in the past couple of years, but almost all of them are reflags/conversions (the 2022 Vinpearl deal nearly doubled the chain's size, but didn't bring much in the way of fresh, exciting new hotels) or massively delayed projects, like the Westin Cam Ranh Resort (finally open this year), or the cancelled LM/now greenlit LC in Central Vietnam. So these are a fairly big deal for Marriott's future in Vietnam.
