At smaller lounges the regular passengers know the staff. Back in the days of the BA lounge there would be regular celebrities clearly well known to staff.

Also, although I only visited 5 or 6 times the lovely lady at the ABZ lounge pre refurb recognised me and she’d always bring me over a glass of bubbles when I sat down without asking as she knew what I liked.

I had one IFM that I gave a Golden Ticket to and actually met them again at the subsequent Golden Ticket party. They were also crew on the GIB diverted plane and were A350 ambassador crew on the MAD A350 familiarisation trips so saw them a few times.

The other time I think was coincidence but I’d take the last flight of the day from Heathrow to say Newcastle or Prague or somewhere and it would be delayed quite often. I’d have the same crew on the mid afternoon flight back the following day after their night stop and it was a standing joke as to who was jinxing who. The IFM would bring me a couple of drinks down the back or put me in CE where there was a seat. This wasn’t expected but we literally by coincidence had about 6 delayed Friday night flights out of Heathrow in 2-3 months,
