Agreed that would be an ideal solution. However, I suspect that may be ranging from very difficult to nearly impossible. Every industry is moving towards consolidation (and those that are not soon will) and airlines have been doing so so for the better part of the last 30 years, so unless the want to become a niche player in a very restricted market (major downscale) or develop an important 6th Freedom market share (against the ME3 and TK) I don't see an airline of that size being able to survive in its current format without falling under the umbrella of IAG/LH Group/AF-KLM.
Plus Portuguese government has said they want to privatise it can’t imagine there is many people else in the running to buy it apart from the Big 3 European airline groups.
