What surprised me too - was how small the food service buffet counter was for a new large lounge. Like AmEx is trying to cut back on the food service, to make it a secondary item in the lounge.
For me the AA and UA lounges will still be my go to lounge at DCA (depending on flight). And to add - the airline lounges have agents that can help you if needed.
Agreed, DCA Centurion Lounge food selection surprisingly limited. With the upgrade in Admirals Club food, I won't go out of my way to use the Centurion Lounge unless I'm flying out of a nearby gate.
