So you were never actually bumped...this is just protecting you on the next flight? Wow

I guess you can check the load on the next flight and if it theres at least a few seats tell the GA not to hold a seat for you unless you're really needed. And if you had to be protected, then ask the GA to drop the segment (and confirm in your app) before you board.
