1. Why would e-upgrade space (R) be available on Latitude, but not PY flex on the same flight?
2. Does eligible mean I would get instant upgrade, without being waitlisted?
1. There is no R space available. Please see the wiki's explanations of R space and additional space for flexible fares.
2. If you hover over, it will explain. It should be noted that the website is not always reliable. In this case, however, I tried actually purchasing each and requesting the upgrade. It did, in fact, go through from Latitude, but not from PY Flexible. Why AC would rather upgrade someone on a $1228 Latitude fare than a $1459 PY Flexible fare, who knows.

Your information still doesn't confirm what you're saying. Who requested the upgrade for the 75K? Did he request it himself, or did someone with higher status request it?
