Amex Travel Insurance - Seat Assignment Fee Reimbursement
Hi all, I did some quick searching for other threads, but I only found results related to the $200 credit - I booked a trip using the personal platinum (US) card, and the airline subsequently cancelled one of my flights "due to weather" (blaming the current hurricane for a flight on the west coast). I have subsequently been rebooked on an airline that I do not have status with, as that was the only seat available to get me there without incurring an overnight delay. I had previously selected a seat with extra legroom, complimentary of my status, but the airline would only book me in economy, I had to pay the fee to select a seat with extra legroom. Do I have any merit in claiming this against the travel insurance, as arguably by doing so I'm saving them much more on an expensive hotel room, or do I just need to eat the cost?
