I know that Emirates charges a significant fuel surcharge on their flights everywhere, which is annoying. However, they follow the rules in NZ and do not apply a fuel surcharge on flights departing from New Zealand; both CHC-DXB and AKL-DXB flights have no fuel surcharge. Currently, the only airlines I can find that do not adhere to the NZ 2005 ruling and still apply fuel surcharges on flights departing from NZ are Cathay Pacific and Qatar Airways. It’s terrible to see that while all other airlines follow the rules, these two companies ignore them and do whatever they like.
