After much more trundling we finally arrived at the runway and there we waited for around ten minutes before it was our turn.

Once we were up in the air it did not take long for the crew to start the meal service. A napkin was laid on the tray table before the meals were distributed. The prawn and pomegranate was delicious and this time the accompanying bread roll was piping hot. The desert was very very sweet and very strawberry and that went back with just a spoonful missing. All accompanied by a grappa and a coffee. I’ve decided I’m only man enough for one grappa and switched to the JW afterwards

There was no drinks menu so the crew brought out the selection on a tray, a nice touch.

Another attentive crew, I’ve been sipping on the grappa whilst Mr 1F has had multiple top ups on his wine, basically every time they pop out of the galley

The pilots announcement came early and he predicted that we would make up almost all the delay due to a very strong tail wind and I’m sure he said that we were currently clipping along at 470 knots, will have to check flightradar24 later if I remember.

By the time I had enjoyed a second coffee and a whisky the pilot announced ten minutes to landing and the flight is nearly done. It looks like we will be on the ground maybe 5-10 minutes late at the most.

An enjoyable little hop with another good crew and it will be interesting to see if the return legs are of the same standard.
