I think you are correct, DoubleTree Kyoto Station was rebranding from Daiwa. As I mentioned previously, Conrad Yokohama will be in corporation with Daiwa, also. Looks like Hilton has a close relation with Daiwa in Japan.
I stayed at the DT Kyoto station, which is indeed formerly Daiwa Royal. It’s a very nice DT - nicely appointed rooms and an inviting lobby area - with a decent lounge and breakfast. A very convenient location to the station, as well.
