Booked King Premium Garden View, received the same
How are the rooms?
Rooms themselves are very nice, considering that it is an art-deco property and therefore not everything is quite as a modern hotel would be. As typical with Kimptons, there is too much clutter of mini-bar items. However, untypical of US Kimptons, there is a coffee maker in the room.
Bathrooms are another story - really small (which is understandable) but not that well maintained. I struggled to get cold water and the shower temperature control moved more than 360 degrees so I had no idea what temperature it was set.
What was good and what was bad?
Other than rooms, the hotel’s location is superb and there is an excellent pool. Staff were on hand to find loungers for you and insisted on setting everything up as you wanted. The Social Club restaurant had one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had - the quality of the food was amazing and most was covered by the Diamond welcome amenity (which was a flat amount; the total charged to my room for juice, main, auto-gratuity was $10). There is a happy hour at a similar time as the social hour.
Pool bar was great but ridiculously expensive - a beer charged to my room was $20.06; if slightly less I might have had more than one.
Value for $ or IHG Points? Would you return?
Good value but it was low season for Miami. This is a return visit so would return - but would caution others if they can’t cope with the bathroom.
