This thread
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/brit...raft-door.html popped up and it reminded me of a question I always kept meaning to ask.
Why is gate A15 in LHR T5 special? It is just a direct airbridge from terminal to aircraft, it doesn't have that node in the middle where passengers are supposed to drop off pushchairs and gate checked baggage.
I also seem to recall that the gate next to it has two numbers (A16/17 I think) what's the reason for that?
Was A15 planned to be the Concorde gate (would the design of A15 be better for a smaller aircraft like Concorde)?
