Actually I think paid STPC is available for full redemption tickets in U (but not rebate tickets in U, whatever they are...), but they do need to be issued by QR. So not applicable in this case.
Even so, with the charges each being $125 in Y or $150 in J, you may be better off sorting out your own off airport hotel anyway. At least then you have a choice.
