I suppose all you could do it get a doctor’s certificate and plead with the hotel to charge you a more reasonable rate than the rack rate although I suspect $680 is actually lower than the current rate and isn’t track rate as hotel prices in London are crazy. Worth a try though. I’m curious as to what happened with your flight. Also a no show? I would also advise you to get annual travel insurance and not rely on credit card policies.
