So you are looking at 7 tickets + 1 free ticket. So if prices dont change, you would need 196k points. If you are in a relationship with someone else, they could also apply for a card, to book a couple of the tickets. You then have to pay $11.20/person for taxes/fees on those tickets.
We could in theory get 3 adults to apply to get 3 free tickets, right? I could invite both of the other adults to get the referral bonus, don’t mind paying the AF on 2 of the cards & cancel after the year, we don’t travel much but wouldn’t mind the points/flights to save monies. Spending ~$4600 is a lot, so spending half would be ideal haha there’s 5 adults & 3 children traveling, just trying to see best strategy to accomplish it.
We could use the companion fare next year, personally I travel 2/3 times a year usually via Delta, but the same flights to Knoxville were $300-$400 more on Delta around the same time frame.
Also, would it make more sense 1x SW personal & 1x SW business or just 3x SW personal as we can pool/transfer the points for the flights from what I was reading, correct?
I’m new to all of this, so just want the best bang for the trip since we’re going to have to spend monies on rental car as well & seems it was another ~$1200 for a week for an 8 passenger van.
