I had family scheduled to travel on BA11 to Singapore with a connecting flight. They spent four hours delayed and on the tarmac even after the flight was cancelled due to a technical fault.
BA told them they had six cancelled flights today, so they don't have any more hotels to book people into as they are 'sold out'. Everyone will need to pay and then make a claim later. In addition, they have now all been told they won't get their baggage back. Everyone was told that they would need to file for lost baggage or wait until tomorrow and it 'may be there'.
They can't even book another flight now with BA holding everyone's luggage. BA have not be able to reroute anyone from my understanding yet. They are being contacted tomorrow to see if they can get them on another flight.
