LHR-JFK on AA in Y - 3451 miles

Total 9997 miles, priced in the 9001 to 10000 miles bracket by 3 miles. Longest sector is AA from LHR to JFK and that would be in Y so it should all price up in Y.

If BA use slightly different miles than the gc map and it goes over the 10000 miles mark then I can switch JFK out for another city that keeps it under 10000 but still the longest sector (so over 3285 miles but under 3451) as this would need to be the longest sector in Y to get the whole ticket to price in Y (70,000 Avios plus taxes)

Boston is too low (3265) so I would need something in between Boston and JFK for this to work. I’m just hoping BA use the figures above, within 3 miles, to keep it in the 9001-10000 miles bracket.

The next bracket is quite a big jump, and quite a wide bracket, so I’d need to think carefully if I’m better off replacing East Coast with West Coast USA to get more out of the extra Avios in the bracket above. I’m happy to go to anywhere in the USA in December but would prefer East Coast so I can get back for less Avios.
Just for completion, this did indeed ticket at 70,000 Avios plus taxes of around £580 (which was higher than the three separate flights added together but I wasn’t complaining after the Avios falling from the 155,000 I had planned to use).

Final routing was BKK DOH LHR JFK on QR/BA/AA in F/J/Y. As the final sector was the longest, the entire ticket was based on Y using the multi partner award.

Remarkably the entire ticket is less than just the first sector alone in F which was 85,000 Avios I believe. I had to book it all as one through ticket as we tried multiple times to book the JFK sector in December when I actually wanted to go but it kept coming back with various errors. I will phone back in a few days and move the final sector to December as I do need to go to the USA then.
