Alaska is a partner airline with Hainan Airlines (HU) but they have stopped booking award travel on HU because their systems weren't working well together. I called AS and they said that this applies to phone bookings as well as online; the agent had no idea how long it's been happening or when it might get fixed. Anyone have a clue? For that matter, anyone have thoughts on the wisdom of buying a SEA-PEK-CSX-PEK-SEA ticket on HU? It's just $1157 in economy plus another $220 for 4" more legroom on the transpacific legs.
