I just completed a 3-night stay at the HIX in Bishop, CA, with 2 reward nights and 1 annual credit card reward night. At time of booking, the hotel indicated that it was imposing a $20 per night parking charge that was not covered by the reward nights. On arrival, I heard the desk clerk on the phone advising another customer that the $20 parking charge had been eliminated and replaced with a $20 amenity fee (perhaps as a result of CA junk fee prohibitions taking effect recently). Is such a fee a legitimate add-on charge for reward stays?
