I have ex-DUB-LHR-JFK-SFO, SEA-DFW-LHR-BCN on BA with 1 night of hotel in NYC in December. The ex-DUB segment was cancelled. They automatically put me on a flight > 2 hours earlier the same day, which makes positioning a lot more difficult for me to do that day. If I identify an alternative flight that works on a different day of the week earlier in the week or the same flight but a week earlier, is this something that BAH can accommodate with the subsequent change to the attached hotel booking? Or does one have only the option to move things later? And if they accommodate the change on the outbound, would force a change to the return flight to keep the total trip length the same in such cases? From the regular BA schedule change threads, it seems they’ve gotten stricter post-Covid and I haven’t done changes to a BAH booking before. TIA
They won't force a change in the return to keep the length the same, but they can if you request it because you are having to move the outbound.
They can certainly change hotel bookings.
NB You have a 'change' forced on you, so that gives you a free shot at re-organising. If you do it off your own bat they will charge you a fortune.
They are human beings on the phone so if you have a reasonable request and a reason for it they will do their best, but if you try to be silly they may not be so accomodating.
