Interesting experience this week.
- In April I booked an SFO-FRA-LHR for early August, in Y, and applied Plus Points to upgrade to J for 2 people
- In May, I cancelled the ticket (it was refundable) and got my money back.
- A couple of weeks ago I realized I was short 80 plus points. Checked on the website, and it showed them applied to this cancelled reservation.
- Emailed in to ask that the plus points be refunded
- No response to the email, but then yesterday I mysteriously saw the cancelled reservation in My Trips... and the upgrades had cleared!
- The reservation showed as pending ticketing, with both LH and UA, but very much showed us in business (I) class.
- Today I received an email asking for "an email from Lufthansa showing that the Plus Points were not used"
- I replied with a screenshot of the original reservation and the cancellation emails, and my PlusPoints have been returned to me.. and the reservation has disappeared.
