"Gold Canopy" is the ancient legacy name for Hertz's counter-bypass option, from 10+ years ago, before they even introduced the "Ultimate Choice" model of choose-your-own car. Previously, "Gold Canopy" meant they would preassign you a specific car in a specific parking stall, which would be displayed on the Gold Board. When they introduced Ultimate Choice, they just never bothered to update their computer systems to change what was displayed when you make a Gold reservation. So it's just typical Hertz lazy programming. All it means is that your reservation qualifies for counter bypass and you can go straight to the parking lot.

(FWIW, the other option you might see is "Gold Counter," which means your Hertz status is applied but you need to visit the counter to pick up your keys.)
