My mother requests a wheelchair when she travels because she cannot walk long distances. She usually flies AA beginning with a regional jet.

Before TSA Pre, passengers would request a wheelchair and then walk away from the wheelchair post security. You can rent a wheelchair “mom” to move to the front of the line at Disney parks which was known pre Tik Tok.

Reasonable accommodation for those in need of wheelchair service is susceptible to abuse the same as family boarding between A & B. WN needed a change for the boarding process since EBCI can easily be in the B group for almost full flights. Most of my WN flights with the exception of BNA-DAL have been near capacity.
