DItto.
And, I know they were keeping the composite data even back in the days of paper certificates and plastic group boarding cards. WN in the 2000's would occasionally send out emails indicating the number of miles flown (!) as well as actual flight segments for a certain period during that year. And they would compare the current year to the prior year. Again, it would appear that they have been keeping the data for a very long time that is tied to our respective RR #'s and is no doubt still there. Somewhere, I still have all the orange RR (and white CP) cards that they used to issue two+ decades ago.
But, to the major point from a revenue management standpoint each year I try to manage my WN flying (and CC spend) to as close as possible to what is needed for ALP and CP, and then that spend on flights and CC goes somewhere else (or WN gets it after what I need to spend on AA/DL these days). Currently sitting on 1.5M WN points gives me little incentive to throw more money at WN than I need to, and frankly, minus convenience of routes there is little in the way of service on WN these days that shines over anyone else and pricing is usually not that different from anyone else as well.
