I went ahead and renewed now even tho mine does not expire until October. I screwed myself last year by not renewing early and lost out on the Diamond extension (and had to buy elite points later).

I think only bad things happen now with status changes, so I locked it all in now.

Another negative shoe to fall is going to be the ability to choose the Lounge Access perk at 40 nights.
