Unfortunately you don't get an auto-confirm, hence the advice in this forum to screen shot both the substantive screen and the final screen with the case number. After a few weeks you should get an email saying that you have not been forgotten. If it's a very straightforward claim, and you only put a sentence or two of text then you may hear within a few days anyway.
The new system now does say you will get a confirmation email. It says it may take a few minutes but the hamster moves slowly and my confirmation email turned up exactly a week after I submitted the claim.
