These estimates are always titillating numbers designed to stimulate sheep into clicking their links. Note there is no analysis of net cost, ie, the amount of money saved NOT flying these passengers due to the Cloudstrike.
Financially, this is a bad week, but I wouldnt be surprised if DL makes money in the quarter , regardless. Of course, once you are flat, its a good practice to write off a bunch of liabilities like 8B in SkyPesos, to make the quarter even worse, so that the bounceback next quarter pays off the C-suite in bonuses.
