Schedule changes created a connection departing prior to the incoming flight
Schedule changes loaded on Sunday created a connecting flight on a west coast to east coast ticket that leaves about 30 minutes before the incoming flight arrives. So, an impossible connection. The trip is in about 8 weeks and that should have been the final schedule change. I know I can call and request different flights because the changes are more than 61 minutes.
The problem is all connections involve a red eye and I just won’t do that. The best option for me now is to fly to the connecting airport, DFW, overnight there and catch a mid morning flight out the next day. Can I request that without being forced to take the red eye, or the first flights out the next day which are at 5am and 6am. There is a flight out about 10:30am and that would suit me better. Clearly I like my sleep.
Also, I’m curious will AA eventually fix this themselves (albeit to flights I don’t like) or do they leave impossible connections and assume the passenger will call to fix. And if I want to change to another airport within the 300 mile rule can I do that, and is the rule 300 road miles, or great circle miles. Thanks for any help.
