Recent stay report - July 2024
Fantastic hard product. Hit or miss soft product.
Stayed on FHR rate. Got upgraded to a Premium King which was really nice. Large. Basically a studio / junior suite. Rooms are beautiful. Bathroom gorgeous, really luxurious. No complaints about the hard product at all. Amore attractive and functional room than the premium rooms at The Joseph which I’d say is the direct competitor to The Conrad.
Got a complimentary ride in the house car to downtown - a brand new Mercedes EV. Really nice touch. Door staff was fantastic all the way around.
The lobby is beautiful and is probably the best lobby bar / lounge in Nashville. It’s way better than the Four Seasons or Joseph.
OK, so what about the soft product issues?
No room service at 11pm on a Saturday night. Seriously? “Sorry, the chef called in sick” - completely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber.
The third floor bar has no idea what it wants to be - bespoke cocktail bar, Japanese small plates bistro, poolside tiki bar? It’s super weird. The burger is really good, but the service wasn’t. We had to flag everyone down for everything and couldn’t get drinks for so long we almost left.
The next day at the pool it was completely empty except for our group at about 9am. Sunday morning, we just wanted to read. But the EDM tunes were louder than Miami during spring break. When I asked the poolside bartender to turn it down “at least until anyone else shows up who isn’t reading quietly” she looked at me like I was asking her to climb Everest.
I will say the breakfast / brunch was absolutely fantastic as was the service, though the $13 pot of coffee being the only coffee option is just silly.
On that note the hotel has no morning coffee shop / to go option, though there is a Starbucks a couple doors down.
Overall good stay with awesome hard product. I’d stay again but lower your service expectations, lower than they should be.
