Agreed 100%. Upon checking, I feel the UK has been hit the hardest (not good for Australia either). Now, I don't know how the IHG pricing algorithm was implemented but it's pretty obvious there was something done recently to devalue their points worth. Is it universal? Nobody can check every hotel for every date to verify unless you are an engineer at IHG knowing exactly how the algorithm works. So, it's pointless to argue whether the devaluation is universal.
