We are thinking of buying a $400 Delta gift card (4000 MR points for using my Green Card) to pay for part of a flight when we are also using a Companion ticket from my lovely wife’s Delta Platinum Card.

Should we still get free bags as long as we pay part of the fare with the Delta Platinum card?
