I can almost guarantee you that there will be seats CLT-LHR with 3 daily AA flights (and seats def. for LHR-MAD); nothing to worry about.
id be worried that the auto rebook would think if you depart 11 minutes late you need to be rebooked automatically.
And while there are 3 flights to LHR, odds of there being J available last minute in July is low.
My blood pressure is enough of a reason to get a better connection .
