We did Andalusia in late October several years ago. We had nice weather. Stayed in a beach side town near Malaga. There were even people poolside.
I think we had one day of light rain. Other than that, I think we wore light jackets. Crowds were certainly less in most places. But yes, no events, but we got to experience a bit more of real Spain life.
I like traveling the shoulder seasons.
We were in Lisbon in January and it was great. Again, light jacket weather. Could still sit outside in the sun (got a little chilly in the shade, I will admit).
