That is why I think walking would be faster but you have to be pretty strong to push 4 60 lb. bags and the regular rental carts can't handle 4 big bags. So, you need to see if the porter can do that with you all the way to the UA side.
Isn't there also the problem that you have to leave the airport to get a rideshre (e.g. I thought all of the rideshare were relocated to the "LAX-IT" lot East of T1) so OP would have to take a shuttle to get the rideshare (not sure if cabs fall into the same category but based on my recent LAX adventure I didn't see many/any)
I would suggest, though I've never done it myself, something along the lines of taking the overhead walkway from T3 through P3/P4 into T4 and then bolting up the horseshoe curb to the UA premier checkin (which is essentially at the T6/T7 demarcarion point. This would provide a largely smooth, climate controlled surface, with vehicle/pedestrian separation for about 1/2 of the route. But it is also an uncomfortably close connection for me without children or luggage. Admittedly I tend to be pessimistic.
